If you don’t know me (Michelle) yet, you may not realize that I grew up as a horseback rider – competing all along the West Coast until the age of 17, when after being burnt out of 10+ years of competing, I took time off for my last junior year. I rode on and off for the first year of college, working and teaching at the farm – until I decided discovered photography, and I opted to focus on school and then photography as my career.
my years of horseback riding allows me the advantage to know the ins-and-outs of working with you and your horse
Now, many years later I am still in love with photography, and have such a soft spot for senior portrait sessions that revolve around your horse, the love of riding, and being out at the farm or a horse-show. I like to think my 20 years of riding gives me a special advantage into knowing how to approach and handle working with you and your horse. These are absolutely my most favorite sessions to photograph!

The opportunity to work with Helena and her horse Elektra was exceptional! We headed out to her farm in Redmond to capture her senior photos with her horse. Our makeup artist travels on-site with us to get you hair & makeup ready. Then we’ll be sure to spend some time capturing your photos with your horse, as well as solo around the property.

Helena chose a classic look for her first outfit. We love the white top paired with jeans and sneakers. It creates a beautiful contrast against Elektra’s bay coloring and the dark backdrop of the barn. We always recommend a sneaker or boot with the outfit you wear around your horse to protect your feet!

We are going to be headed to Palm Springs this January/February and would love to meet up with you at HITS Coachella Desert Circuit. Please inquire for more information about these limited sessions.

Next up, Helena wore a white dress paired with a denim jacket. The “Little White Dress” is a wardrobe staple for your senior portraits! Just about every single one of our clients opts for this classic look. Bring a jacket to pair with it, and your favorite pair of shoes. Everything from sandals to sneakers to boots work with this look.

It was such a beautiful day, and we had so much fun frolicking around in the fields. Helena’s white dress, and beautiful smile make this set of photos my favorite from the day!

Helena kept the classic vibes alive with a white tee and black mini skirt. I love the simplicity of this outfit, and how good it also looks in black & white. Helena knows how to bring the fierce fashion look to the barn!

Absolutely breathtaking! The stables provided so many gorgeous backgrounds all in one place. The light in this field was such a dream!

Helena’s last outfit was definitely my favorite! I love this cute gingham dress – and how it perfectly compliments her personality. It’s always a good reminder to bring your favorite outfits that make you feel good inside and out! You’ll feel relaxed and confident – all you need is a smile to complete the look.

Helena is bringing the LOOKS from fun to FASHION MODEL. I think this was Helena’s favorite outfit – and I’m so glad we squeezed in one last outfit on this day!

That’s a wrap on this week’s Senior Portrait feature! Be sure to check back every Sunday for new featured sessions. Thank you Helena for choosing us to capture this special day for you! We look forward to seeing you again in 2020.
